M. G. Sanchez will be talking about the postcolonial elements in his fiction and non-fiction. Sanchezwho hails from Gibraltar and holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Leeds – is the author of six novels (The Escape Artist, Solitude House, Jonathan Gallardo, Diary of a Victorian Colonial, The Fetishist and Gooseman) and three autobiographical memoirs (Past, Bombay Journal and Border Control). The author will be discussing themes such as cultural hybridity, border consciousness and the importance of story-telling in the formation of personal and collective identity, as well as explaining the background  to the story 'Sleeper' from his 2018 volume Crossed Lines. Videos and photographs will be shown during this presentation.

The lecture will be hosted by the Faculty of Arts (Neil McLaren room) on Tuesday, March 8th, at 11:00.
